SECURITY AND PRIVACY

- Every uploaded file is checked (type, size, page count) before it is accepted
- Files are stored privately, outside the public web folder, and served only to their owner
- Download links are signed and expire after 10 minutes
- Uploads, saves and downloads are rate-limited, and every form is protected against CSRF
- Pictures are limited to PNG and JPEG and are checked to be what they claim to be
- The admin area is hidden from everyone who is not an admin
- Signing keys and scanned documents for OCR are processed in the browser and never sent to the server

A drawn or typed signature is an image of a signature. For a legally stronger digital signature, use the certificate-signing option.
Right-to-left scripts (Arabic, Hebrew) and Chinese, Japanese and Korean text are not supported for added or edited text yet.
Converting PDF to Word, Excel or PowerPoint is not included.
Password-protected PDFs that need a password to open are not accepted.
OCR quality depends on the scan. Clear, straight pages give the best results.

Do I need to install anything?
No. Smart PDF Editor runs entirely in a web browser
on computers, tablets and phones
Can I really change the existing text in a PDF?
Yes. Click a line of text, type the
new words, and the old text is removed from the file.
Does it support Bangla?
Yes. You can type and edit Bangla text, use legacy Bangla
fonts such as SutonnyMJ, and recognize Bangla text on scanned pages with OCR.
Can I fill in government forms like USCIS forms?
Yes. Both standard and XFA
forms are supported, and the USCIS I-864 is part of our test suite.
Is redaction safe?
Yes. Redacted content is permanently removed from the
downloaded file, not just covered.
Is my document private?
Yes. Files are stored privately, are available only to their
owner, and guest documents are deleted automatically after a set time.
Can I use my own brand and set my own plans?
Yes. Logo, colours, menus, pages,
